Can you join Friends for Leisure and take part in the #givingtuesday movement this November?
Tuesday 27th November is Giving Tuesday – a global movement which aims to encourage people to give to charities or causes they care about. It aims to be an antidote to the mass consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday (23rd and 26th Nov), the busiest days of the year for online shopping. For one day charities are asking people to think of others in the run up to Christmas, and Friends for Leisure are asking YOU if you could ‘give a day your way’ to help support disabled children and young people.
What does this mean though? We hope that you will make a donation to Friends for Leisure to the value of something specific on Tuesday 27th November. For example:
We’d love you to come up with your own ideas too! Whatever you are up for, we will be so grateful for your support.
Anyone can take part and there’s no need to sign up. Just choose your way to give something and then make your donation via our special Giving Tuesday web page on Virgin Money Giving, our new online fundraising site:
Make sure you tell us about what you’re doing, we want to celebrate it! Use the hashtags #GiveaDay / #GiveItYourWay / #GivingTuesday / #Friendsforleisure on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram…
So get it in your diary – Tuesday 27th November. One day to make a world of difference.
