Trustee Profile: David Broadhurst

I wanted to be a Trustee at FFL because my son received so much support from the charity. I wanted to give something back in return. Tim had a buddy at Cubs who he loved and later a really good buddy who he met up with several times. He also enjoyed the Youth Club and Bowling at Macclesfield. Tim is now 25 and has a job. I am sure the opportunity to socialise with friends at FFL events really helped build his confidence.

I’ve been a Primary School teacher and Headteacher. I now work for MMU helping to train the next generation of teachers. It’s a great job and so pleasing to see so many enthusiastic young people wanting to become teachers.

I have a crazy Spaniel Cross called Bramble. I absolutely love her to bits and feel a bit lost when she’s not with me. I have been known to take her in to work, but unlike Dave’s dog she has to stay in the boot of my car.

I enjoy music and theatre. I’m off to see a band next week called ‘Walk off the Earth’ check them out, you’ll love their version of ‘Somebody that I used to know’
