Young People

Our activities are designed to ensure that you can have fun and are able to make friends around people that understand your needs. Whether it’s a weekday or the weekend, we have a range of activities going such as: youth groups, ten pin bowling, drama and activities over the school holidays.

Will it be noisy and crowded?

We have a maximum of sixteen young people able to attend each activity. If you need any support, there are always two members of FFL staff plus young volunteers to help you enjoy the activities. Some activities may be noisier than others such as music or sport activities but we’ll talk to you about this in advance.

I won’t know anyone…

Everyone’s in the same position when they first attend our activities and most of the time they realise they know someone else there. Everyone’s welcome at our activities and we try our best to make sure you don’t feel left out of any situation. Our young volunteers are also there to help you get to know people and talk to others.

What if I need more help than others?

You may find that you need a little extra help to be able to attend our activities safely. You’re more than welcome to attend with a parent, carer or PA to help you access our activities.

  • I have achieved exactly what I set out to do, gaining insight which will not only make me a better doctor but a better person … improving communication, teamwork and leadership skills and being able to help people who often struggle. I’ve made a real difference, whilst having fun!
