“FFL has made a massive and positive difference to his life and mine”.

My son who has Down’s Syndrome and is 16 years old has been actively involved with FFL since 2017.

FFL has made a massive and positive difference to his life and mine. My son absolutely loves the activities and attending youth club and bowling regularly as well as the school holiday activities which offer him a sense of independence from family and us a little respite. My son knows a number of the other club members and really looks forward to going to any FFL sessions.

I find the staff at FFL are very approachable, warm and are accepting of the various nuances of my son and of our family. The staff are all very friendly but also highly professional. I always feel more than happy to leave my son in their care as FFL adhere to excellent staff / young people ratios as well as being clear to the young people and their Carers about rules and expectations.

In addition, FFL have a number of highly motivated, friendly and inclusive volunteers. The input from FFL has been invaluable in helping my son through this recent and ongoing difficult time of COVID 19. I very much commend the commitment to good quality, equitable and accessible zoom activities produced by FFL since March.

In summary, FFL is an organisation that fulfils a vital, valuable role in a warm, friendly, safe, equitable, accessible and professional manner that I am very very pleased that we as a family and in particular my son has access to. I am grateful to FFL as a whole and to each member of its team for their commitment and generosity to the service of the community.
